If you watch any video or read any article explaining how to be good at Fortnite, a main tip that will always be found is picking a strategic location to land. However, with so many places to pick from on the Fortnite map, you must be wondering: where the heck do I land? We’ve compiled a list to help you out with that, and these locations, with just a bit of loot luck, is bound to help you succeed more, get better loot, get kills, and ultimately win more games, because who doesn’t want to win?
Top 5 Best Places to Drop
5. Shifty Shafts
Shifty Shafts is quite underrated by the community. Many criticize it for the dodgy close quarters combat which often leads to early exits if a player is unfortunate enough not to get a gun in a loot abundant place such as Shifty Shafts. In addition to the plentiful loot, the mines underneath the area has plenty of metal and wood resources available for players to harvest.

4. Pleasant Park
A personal favorite of many, Pleasant Park has many houses containing plentiful loot that can sustain many players. Whether it be in solos, duos, or squads, Pleasant Park is often always a good choice to land at. It is relatively safe in numbers, there is loot spread throughout, and it is not too far away from the center of the map.

3. Crates by Tomato Town
The first location on the list not named, although mostly universally known as crates, it is a place by Tomato Town known for the many metal crates at the center of the area. Crates has great loot and a hectic environment for firefights considering the towering structures all around the area. Overall, Crates is always a great spot to land for the promise of loot and exciting action that awaits.

2. Factories (E,9) by Flush Factory
Another unnamed location, it is quite ironic that an unnamed location near Flush Factory, that is also a factory, takes a spot on the list. This is primarily due to its great loot, a more centralized location on the map, as well as the relatively small amount of people that end up going to this place every game. In my experiences dropping at this place, I have had games where I was the only person to drop at such a great place and left the area well equipped and with a close walk to the circle. For all of these reasons and more, Factories takes #2 on our list.

1. Retail Row
And at the number one spot by our consensus is retail row. With excellent loot spread out making for a relatively safe looting experience, Retail takes the top spot due to its great loot and safety, as well as the relatively good location map-wise, seeing as it is near the center of the map.

Top 5 Worst Places to Drop
5. Tilted Towers
This location could have been on either list, but we have decided to place it in the one of the worst locations to drop in due to its abysmal survival rate. Tilted Towers does have some of the best loot in the game, and it is also fairly close to the center of the map. However, there comes along games where seemingly half the server decides to land in Tilted Towers because of its promise of great loot. If one manages to survive Tilted Towers, they do have a great chance of winning the game. Because of that, Tilted Towers cannot fall any lower than five on our list.

4. Junk Junction
Located at the northern edge of the map, Junk Junction is a small and usually uninhabited area on the map. In it lie stacks of junk, as its name indicates, and loot stashed away in locations spread throughout its vicinity. Though not inherently terrible, its map location combined with not enough compensation in loot quality that makes Junk Junction place on the list.

3. Anarchy Acres
Located centrally north on the map, Anarchy Acres is an alarmingly wide open location with loot spread throughout its many small buildings. Though exponentially better with numbers, as with any location, the loot is spread out far with no cover in between, leading to potential dangers attempting to move from building to building.

Survivability: 2.5/5

2. Flush Factory
Located at the edge of the south side of the map, Flush Factory is a remote location with average loot and a relatively good survival rate. However, the factor the drops Flush Factory this low on the list is its location, which is extremely unfavorable for most situations.

1. Wailing Woods
And our consensus worst place to drop in Fortnite is Wailing Woods. Near the north east edge of the map, all the loot available in Wailing Woods is simply in a small shack and the surrounding hedge maze. On top of that, the area is surrounded by a seemingly unending forest of large trees, which are great for collecting wood, but the resources fail to compensate for the lack of loot available in the area.
