There is no need to travel far to experience the holiday season, and all it has to offer. A personal favorite activity, and one accessible to all Glendale residents, is a trip down to the Americana.

Between the rose gold twinkling lights, classic holiday music, and a tree that tops its surrounding buildings, the Americana holds much for people to see.

The perfect place for a photo shoot, one can take a selfie in front of the tree, or a family portrait with Santa Claus. Even take a classic winter photo after the fake snow falls and gets stuck in your clothes and hair.

But there is much more to the Americana than its decorations.

To fully submerge oneself in the holiday experience, one must understand the wonders hidden in plain sight. Stopping by the small restaurants lining the trolley tracks, one can pick up a hot chocolate from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and some dessert from The Pie Hole.

With something for everyone to enjoy, and warm drinks and foods to counteract the cold at nights, it is truly the hub of tradition and culture for the city.

And besides, one can always shop while waiting for the snow to fall.
