A handful of local teachers gathered last Wednesday at the Glendale Central Library to learn about a new solar-energy project. GUSD wants to distribute solar-powered carnival rocket rides to students in Cerritos, Edison, and Mark Keppel. The goal is to introduce and teach students the importance of solar energy. Juliet Ainian a teacher at Mark Keppel stated how important it is for them to know that there are other options to make things around you work besides electricity.
