Hoover High graduate Edmen Shahbazyan is a rising star in the UFC.
Edmen Shahbazyan, a successful Hoover High graduate who went on to be a rising star in the UFC, will not have to wait much longer for his next fight. Shahbazyan (11-1) is set to fight Jack Hermansson (21-6) on May 15 at the Toyota Center in Houston as a part of UFC 262, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Shahbazyan will try to redeem himself since his last fight, a KO loss to Derek Brunson on August 1. The loss was the first of Shahbazyan’s career.
Hermansson, who also lost his last fight, is the ninth-ranked fighter in the latest USA Today Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings. Shahbazyan is an honorable mention in the same rankings.
