This Tuesday, the Hoover High boys’ water polo team dominated the water with a 25-0 win against Alhambra High.
Within the first 30 seconds, Hoover scored the first goal of the game, kicking off their game-long run.
Hoover continued to rack up the goals with some skilled side-shots.
By the third quarter, Hoover managed to score 16 goals.
Hoover’s strong defense prevented Alhambra from even coming close to scoring a point.
“It was alright, but I think we could have played better and we could have made simple mistakes not happen,” Hoover goalkeeper Grickore Danelyan said.
Those “simple mistakes” still did not prevent Hoover from wrapping up the third quarter with a score of 24-0.
By this time it was clear Alhambra was no match for Hoover’s aggressive offense and alert defense.
Even though Hoover won by a landslide, the team is still thinking of how they can improve for the next game.
“We could definitely play more seriously and pass better,” freshman Armen Tarakhchyan said.
