Senior standout Zack Van Patten ended his high school career by being selected to the All-Pacific League first team.
“It feels great to be nominated for first-team all-league,” he sad.
Van Patten averaged 23 points, 5.4 assists, 6.1 rebounds, and an impressive three steals per game for the Tornados, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
“I worked hard to earn it so I’m really happy. Overall I’m just really glad we had a great season as a team.”
Hoover sophomore guard Justin Herrera got honorable mention. He averaged 13 points a game and had a 74% success rate from the free-throw line.
“I’m happy I got honorable mention and I’m in the gym everyday working to be better so I can get first team next year,” Herrera said.
