Hoover held its annual Winter Showcase for its winter performing groups.
Hoover High, Glendale High, Toll Middle School and Wilson Middle School each had performances.
“The home show was amazing,” said Melissa Campbell, Director of The Hoover Instrumental at Hoover. “I’m really proud of all the students that performed and it’s a great way to bring our community together. I think it’s special to Hoover because not all of our families or even students can attend competitions to support each other, and this gives us a great way to see all the performances in one place.”
This event was a special event too a lot of people, especially the seniors.
“Honestly, I feel it was bittersweet,” said Kelsey Lim, a senior at Hoover. “I’m happy that our home show run was one of our best runs but a little sad that it’s the last time we’re performing our show. It was really cool seeing how far everyone has progressed and grown from the start of the season until home show.”
It was also special for the middle schoolers because of how much hard work they put into drumming and learning how to play over the course of the semester.
“My students have been practicing over the course of the semester and learning many new rudiments and techniques that are needed to play this music,” said Narek Davtyan, a drumming tech at Toll Middle School. “They also put individual time at home practicing to make sure it is at the standard that is needed to be achieved.”
