Amy Novshadyan has brought a little piece of Europe to Glendale.
About a year ago, Novshadyan came up with the idea to make her own cafe inspired by some of the cafes she saw while traveling in in Europe.
That is when N Café was born.
N Café is connected to Nova Market, which her family owns.
“I got the idea when I went to Europe with my family and noticed all the cafes that were open all day and until late at night,” the Hoover High junior said. “The cafes were designed to be mainly outdoors, so the customers could enjoy the weather outside. Glendale has a bunch of nice locations to have these types of cafes where you can sit down and chat with your friends, but it’s not quite a restaurant.”
Novshadyan decided to plan the menu and the set up ideas herself and then propose it to her mom.
“I was nervous but at the same time okay,” her mom, Adrine Novashadyan said. “It was a new adventure, something we haven’t done before in the restaurant business. It also gave me an opportunity to work with my daughter who is my best friend. I can’t wait to see where we can take this and grow.”
Amy Novshadyan’s friends have been impressed.
“I think it’s amazing how she had the vision for the cafe and was able to bring it to life,” fellow Hoover junior Tiffany Narinians said. “She works so hard to keep it going and she is so devoted to the cafe.”
Amy Novshadyan has been very hands on at the café. From serving as a host, to being a waitress, to preparing the food.
“It’s like a family,” she said. “We all work together. It’s a big part of my life and my family’s life because we are there all the time, especially on the weekends. I’m so happy I was able to bring my vision to life but I couldn’t do it without the support of my family, especially my mom, my dad, and my brothers.”
