The Armenian Club celebrated Armenian Heritage Month on Tuesday, the 22nd!
Members of the Armenian Club had the opportunity to fundraise by selling an Eastern European dish called “Pirozhki”. A Google form was posted in the Armenian Club Google Classroom for signing up for the fundraiser.
There was also a poster made by the club cabinet, where students could dip their hands in paint of the Armenian flag colors [red, blue, orange] and hand-print them on the poster. Students had lots of fun leaving their handprints on the poster!
Also, teenagers were playing traditional Armenian instruments such as “Dhol,” which are Armenian drums, and other instruments that many people were interested in listening to.
Four seniors coordinated a traditional Armenian dance to the song “Du…” by Razmil Amyan. It was originally an old Armenian song, but the Armenian singer Razmik Amyan made a cover that so many people love and listen to all the time! The students’ names were: Natalia Khodaverdi, Nelly Nikogosova, Christine Lambaryan, Eana Parsanian, Maneh Parsanian. Students joined the girls in the middle of the Upper Quad and danced with their friends.
Natalia Khodaverdi (’25) said this when asked what it felt like to be portraying their culture in front of students and teachers: “It is so much fun to showcase our culture to everyone. Whether it’s through dance, song, or another way, inspiring others to embrace their culture brings us so much joy.”
