Hoover welcomed a new head football coach, Jordan Ward.
Born and raised in Washington D.C, he was always around football. He started playing flag football at the age of six and played tackle football in middle school.
His football career was elevated when he started playing for youth teams in his area, in high school, and then in college at Virginia Military Institute.
In his first year at VMI, his team went 0-11. In their senior year, they ended off 6-2, winning the conference league for the first time in 70 years and making the playoffs for the first time in the history of the school.
“It was a legendary team I was a part of,” Ward said.
His coaching journey started in Indiana at Ball State University. He coached there for two years while he worked on attaining his master’s degree.
After getting his degree from BSU, he moved to Los Angeles and got the opportunity to coach for Hoover. He always wanted to be a coach, so he took the chance without hesitation.
Ward is dedicated to the Hoover football team and expects commitment from the team. His coaching philosophy is that if everyone is disciplined and committed, they can do anything. His goal for the team is to dominate the league and make respectful young men.
Hoover is glad to have a coach like Jordan Ward who is ready to lead our football team to victory.
