The Hoover High School ASB hosted its “Splash Zone” fundraiser on Friday, when students had the chance to drench their favorite teachers for a good cause.
The event quickly turned into one of the most exciting fundraisers right before the five-week progress report cards were due.
Students lined up with smiles and dollar bills in hand.
For just $1, they could toss a small cup of water, while $5 bought them the ultimate splash: dumping an entire bucket over a teacher’s head.
Teachers bravely volunteered to be splashed to end the week drenched.
The fundraiser brought together fun and school spirit while raising money for future ASB events.
“I love raising Hoover spirit, and I love when Hoover students come together and enjoy themselves, so it’s very gratifying,” said Anahit Kazaryan, the vice president for the class of 2027.
Even the teachers who got soaked enjoyed the fundraiser.
“I was glad to know that it was raising money for school events, so whatever ASB needs, I’ll do it,” said English teacher Pateel Eulmessekian.
By the end of the event, teachers were dripping wet, but the fundraiser was a clear success.
Hoover ASB proved that sometimes, school spirit and fundraising go hand in hand, even if it means getting a little soaked along the way.
