Time travel might not be legitimately possible, but for the Hoover seniors, it’s a blast from the past.
Students strut from classroom to classroom showing off their kid backpacks to symbolize the beginning of the end of their high school journeys. As children, some grew up with Disney princesses or action characters, which influenced students to incorporate those into their backpacks.
“I picked my backpack because it has Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Frozen on the front,” senior Milena Chilingaryan said. “I loved the movie Frozen as a kid, and even dressed up as Anna for Halloween once when I was little.”
The trend has quickly become a signature of the senior class.
Rows of colorful bags line the hallways, sparking memories and smiles between classmates and teachers alike.
“My friends really like the concept and have really cute backpacks,” senior Mary Ghazaryan said. “It feels nostalgic, I think that’s why people gravitate towards it so much.”
For many students, the backpacks aren’t just about looks, they’re a remembrance from an important year.
“I love my Minnie Mouse backpack and will use it whenever I can,” senior Savannah Studebaker said. “It’s not the most practical, but it’s definitely fun seeing other seniors embracing it.”
From Frozen to Minnie Mouse and everything in between, these backpacks have transformed an ordinary school year into one filled with small but meaningful memories.
They’re a reminder that while senior year marks the end of one chapter, it’s okay to celebrate where it all began.
