Get ready for the Hoover High Drama Department as they take the stage with their upcoming play, Any Number Can Die.
This comedic murder mystery, written by Fred Carmichael, will come to life on November 19, 20, and 21 at the Hoover High Theatre. “I think it is a really strong cast, and I am very excited to see how everybody plays their roles,” said director Robbie Myles.
Myles shared that this is his first time directing at Hoover in about 13 to 14 years. “I’ve directed some shows outside of Hoover, which has been fun. The last thing I directed here was Shakespeare, so it’s nice to have the chance to direct again.”
Senior Nihil Lopez, playing Detective Hannibal Hix, gave a sneak peek into the play. “It’s about a group of people who are brought together to read the will of their deceased uncle. Some strange things start to happen, and it’s up to us to solve the mystery,” Lopez explained. His character must dig for clues and help unravel the comedic chaos that ensues.
Aurora Stewart, a junior playing Celia Lathrop, described her character as “a very snotty girl who really wants to be rich. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see how I portray her.” Stewart expressed excitement about performing for the Hoover community. “Be prepared for a funny performance with twists, turns, and unexpected moments on stage.”
The Drama Department is thrilled to showcase this talented cast.
