This is one of my favorite recipes! I love salty food and preparing this allows me to spend enjoyable time in the kitchen!
It goes perfectly with tea for a snack, or could be munched on alone. It takes around an hour and 30 minutes to prepare and bake this and it fits with the winter vibes!
You can have the sticks made to your liking: thick or thin, soft or crispy; this recipe gives you thin and crispy goodies. Enjoy!
Ingredients
Dough: Extra:
3 ¾ cups self-rising flour 1 egg
½ teaspoon baking soda Black Sesame Seeds (to liking)
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
1 egg
½ cup oil
½ cup milk
¾ cup water
Directions
1- Preheat the oven to 350°F
2- Mix the dry ingredients together in a big bowl.
3- Whisk the egg and the oil together, and then add the milk and half of the water to it.
4- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix until a dough forms. Note that the dough would crumble- add the rest of the water and keep kneading.
5- Put the dough back in the bowl and cover it with a cloth, leave it to rest for 30 minutes.
6- Open and roll the dough until it is around half an inch thick, then cut out pieces that measure about ½ x 5 inches.
7- Whisk the extra egg and add the black sesame seeds to it, and spread it over the top of the dough.
8- Put in oven and leave to cook for 30 minutes.
