With “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” being the last episode in the Skywalker saga, much of the Star Wars universe has yet to be explored.

When Disney’s streaming service, DisneyPlus was first announced, fans of the brand were excited to hear the news of original TV series’ from both Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios.

“The Mandalorian” is the first in what will become a plethora of new content from Lucasfilm for the service, a series based on the beloved characters from prior films such as Cassian Andor and K2-SO from “Rogue One;” a Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show spin-off are in the works.

The pilot series debuted its first episode on Nov. 12.

With a budget of $12.5 million per episode, the show definitely has that large scale appeal, but with some minor flaws with VFX work; nothing too distracting, but nonetheless, noticeable at first glance. In other words, a perfect match for the Star Wars brand.

What fans have loved the most from the original films was the sense of adventure, mystery and the mix of VFX work with practical effects.“The Mandalorian” definitely taps into every Star Wars fan’s most cherished pieces from both the new and old trilogies.

“The Mandalorian” is a western adventure in space and it is spectacular. With homages to recognizable characters, alien designs and score, the show every much has a nostalgic feel and look throughout the episode.

Although it is a slow burn within the first twenty minutes, the pay-off in the last few moments of the episode is worth the wait.

The jaw dropping reveal of what will be a major story arc in upcoming episodes will have you asking for more; it is binge-worthy.
