Here at Hoover High, you will see that while students are working on their assignments, teachers will play calming music. I am not the first person to point out that this seems to improve focus and productivity. This is a positive approach for creating an atmosphere that encourages a positive learning.
These include music therapy programs offered in schools across the country to deal with anxiety, stress, or some emotional challenges that students are facing. However, these programs give students the chance to vent their feelings about school and life in general by way of music. More and more, music is being used as a therapeutic tool.
Music is not just background noise if you’re studying, hanging out with friends, or training for the big game. But, it is a powerful tool that can change the mood, instill confidence, and cause better performances in schools and on the field. We all have a song that can focus our attention, calm our nerves, or pump us up to whatever comes next.
