At Herbert HHS, students can be rewarded for good behavior through the school’s fun reward system called Tornado Tickets. This program encourages students to be Responsible, Respectful, and Engaged (RRE) while earning cool prizes along the way.
So how does it work? Students earn Tornado Tickets by demonstrating RRE in their daily interactions and academic pursuits. Teachers and staff members distribute these tickets as a way to acknowledge and appreciate students who go above and beyond in fostering a positive school environment. Once collected, the tickets can be redeemed for various prizes at the prize station, which is open every Tuesday and Thursday during snack time.
The prize station offers a range of rewards, catering to different interests and ticket counts:
- 1 Ticket: Pencil, hairband, mochi squishy, pop it, or a set of two stickers.
- 3 Tickets: Animal keychain, Rubik’s cube or puzzle cube, claw clip, paddle toy, or scrunchie.
- 5 Tickets: Charger, deck of cards, compact hairbrush/mirror, or phone charms.
- 10 Tickets: Uno, mini Jenga, or a charging bank.
This tiered system motivates students to either save up for larger rewards or enjoy smaller prizes more frequently, promoting a sense of accomplishment and decision-making.
The Tornado Ticket program not only rewards students for good behavior but also fosters a culture of mutual respect and responsibility. By reinforcing these values, Herbert HHS ensures that students take pride in their school community and strive to be their best selves.
Whether a student is saving up for a charging bank or simply enjoying the process of earning and redeeming tickets, the Tornado Ticket system remains an exciting and effective way to encourage positive behavior at Herbert HHS.
