The Hoover High School football team dominated Pasadena Marshall on Friday night, opening the season with a 51-7 win at home.
The stands were buzzing as Hoover ended the first half with six touchdowns.
Hoover junior running back Dveen Aghanian led the way with three touchdowns, including scoring his first touchdown with 11:15 on the clock in the second quarter.
“It feels good,” Aghanian said. “I [thank] my line. They blocked me. They made those gaps big and that’s why it happened.”
The stands were getting louder with the excitement of fourth quarter as Hoover ended the third quarter with a 44-7 lead. approaches towards the end of third quarter studen ts are standing up and yelling excited for the outcome of the end of the game.
The win came in the debut of Hoover first-year Coach Jordan Ward.
“I am feeling very good,” Ward said. “Lucky, Fortunate. Blessed. There is a great group of guys around us. We had a good week of preparation. We handled the adversity of the heat throughout the week. It was a good day in office for the Tornados.”
