The Burbank Bulldogs visited Hoover High to play against the Tornados girls’ volleyball team on Tuesday, and swept Hoover in three sets, winning by scores of 25-10, 25-20, 25-10.

Burbank was in the lead for most of the sets, but Hoover took a lead in the second set when they scored five consecutive points to take a 10-8 advantage. However, Burbank pulled away to take control of the match.

“We played well but we could have done better, we’ll get them next time,” said Karina Saavedra, a hitter on the Tornados.

Although the Bulldogs claimed victory this game, Hoover hasn’t lost hope.

“It was a pretty fair game,” said Hoover’s Hera Hovsepian. “We spotted some things that we need to change or improve. We found strengths that we could use for our next games.”
