More Hoover sports games have been postponed due to COVID-19.

The boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer games this week were all postponed.

“I’m very disappointed the games are being canceled for lots of reasons,” said Shawn Zargarian, a sophomore on the basketball team. “All the hard work put in this summer that should be shown now isn’t going to. It’s disappointing but we will overcome it.”

Narek Papazyan, a soccer player, has similar feelings.

“The start of the season everyone was excited and looked forward to training as a team, and being able to be a team, getting ready for the important games that come,” Papazyan said. “But unfortunately Covid is holding back while we are trying to get more ready for the important games coming up.”

Jack Van Patten, the head coach for the boys’ basketball team, said he’s frustrated for his team having to postpone games.

“As the athletic director, you feel bad for the kids and the rescheduling issue is a nightmare,” Van Patten said.
