Hoover High graduate Edmen Shahbazyan suffered his second consecutive loss on Saturday night, losing to Jack Hermansson in a unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 188 in Las Vegas. Hermansson won 29-27 on all three of the judges’ scorecards in the three-round bout. Shahbazyan’s record in MMA dropped to 11-2, including 4-2 in the UFC.

Shahbazyan appeared to win the first round after landing kicks and strikes, but Hermansson rebounded to finish strong, especially in the final round, when he caused a cut above Shahbazyan’s eye.

This was Shahbazyan’s first fight in the UFC since an August loss to Derek Brunson.
