Hoover HIgh graduate Edmen Shahbazyan is set to go up against Nassourdine Imavov, a fellow middleweight, on November 6th. The two are scheduled to have their fight at the UFC 268 card in the Madison Square Garden at New York. Shahbazyan has lost his last two fights, including a unanimous decision setback against Jack Hermansson on May 15.

Shahbazyan, born in Glendale, had his UFC debut on November 30th, 2018, and through a split decision, he was deemed victor against his opponent, Darren Stewart. Though this wasn’t his first ever match, as he also did mixed martial arts and had that debut in 2017. Meanwhile, Imavov, born in Dagestan, Russia, made his UFC debut on October 4th, 2020, where he too was deemed victor of his match through a unanimous vote. However, like Shahbazyan, he also did mixed martial arts, though he started a year prior, in 2016.
