The Hoover High football team made history Friday night.
The Tornados defeated Roybal High,  30-6, to improve to 4-0 on the 2021 season, the first time that they have won their opening four games of the season since 1953.
Hoover High running back Andrew Torres continued to shine, scoring three touchdowns against Roybal to give him a combined seven scores in the past two games.
“It feels great, we have a lot of improvements to still do,” Torres said. “I think it’s a great season to be apart of.”
Daniel Baneham, Hoover’s kicker, also kicked a field goal for the Tornados.
“Feeling good, at this point we need to keep moving forward.” Baneham said. “We have to keep our head in the game.”
Hoover started 6-0 in that 1953 season. It will try to win its fifth straight game of the 2021 season with the Tornados take on Dr. Maya Angelou Community High on Friday.
