As the Hoover crowd began to cheer in Thursday’s boys’ water polo match against St. Francis for a Tornado goal, the roars were slowly silenced by the Golden Knights scoring again and again.

That’s how it went for Hoover in a nonleague home match.

St. Francis defeated Hoover, 14-4, to drop Hoover’s record to 4-7 on the season.

Many of the players were devastated by this loss. This is what Aram Minasyan, the team captain and set defender of the hoover tornadoes water polo team had to say about it.

“We could have played better, definitely, we could have won if we tried really hard,” said Hoover’s Aram Minasyan said. “It was a pretty embarrassing score for us.

“Everybody was out of it in this game. We were not doing good, our synergy was off, not doing good on teamwork.”

Hoover gave credit to a good St. Francis team.

“They played better all around as a team,” said Hoover’s Raffi Davtyan.
