Students at Hoover High School showed their school spirit and creativity during Spirit Week, which took place from March 16 to March 20. Throughout the week, students participated in themed dress-up days that brought excitement and fun to campus while encouraging everyone to get involved.
Spirit Week began on Monday with “Dress Like a Teacher” Day.
Students arrived at school wearing outfits inspired by their teachers, including professional clothing, glasses, and even carrying notebooks and coffee cups to complete the look. The day sparked laughter across campus as students and teachers compared outfits.
Natali Hambardzumyan, a junior said, “Spirit Week made school feel more exciting. It was funny seeing everyone dressed like teachers.”
On Tuesday, students celebrated Green, Gold, and Rainbow Day. Many students wore bright green clothing, gold accessories, and colorful rainbow items to match the festive theme. The hallways were filled with vibrant colors, creating a cheerful atmosphere throughout the school.
Wednesday featured Twin Day, when students paired up with friends and wore matching outfits. Some twins dressed in identical hoodies and jeans, while others coordinated creative costumes. The day highlighted friendships and teamwork as pairs walked around campus showing off their coordinated looks.
“Spirit Week is a time to celebrate our school community and show pride in who we are. Participate with enthusiasm, embrace the themes, and let’s make each day memorable while fostering positivity and school spirit,” Said Janna Kasmanian, the ASB teacher.
Thursday’s theme was Pop Culture (Meme) Day, which allowed students to dress as popular characters, internet memes, or well-known figures from entertainment and media. The creative costumes quickly became a favorite among students, as many showed off humorous and recognizable looks.
Spirit Week ended on Friday with Anything But a Backpack Day. Instead of carrying traditional backpacks, students brought their school supplies in unusual items such as baskets, tote bags, boxes, or other creative containers. The creative choices made the final day one of the most entertaining of the week.
